| Michael Douglas and His Wife Catherine Z Jones are Also Sailing a Yacht |
Michael Douglas and his wife Catherine Z Jones had a yacht cruise recently. They were sailing on a luxury yacht with a crew, which was flying an American flag. The couple of Hollywood actors started off from St Tropez in the south of France last month and have been traveling through the Mediterranean sea with a group of friends.
Michael Douglas played a swashbuckling yachtsman in one of his best known films named Romancing the Stone. So Michael is familiar with yachting, the feeling of sailing on a yacht, steering a yacht. Well, both in the movie and in this yachting cruise he probably didn't steer a yacht himself, there are experts who do that. Sailing a yacht is not something new for celebrities, but they rarely steer a yacht themselves.
On this yachting cruise happened something interesting. The captain of the luxury yacht where Michael Douglas, his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and their friends were sailing, had not reported port authorities who was on board and haven't gained the right paperwork. |

| Pirate Attacks in the Modern World |
Sea pirates seemed to be brave robbers and fearless adventurers in children's books. Pirate attacks in the modern world are made by dangerous criminals who become more and more impudent.
There were 325 pirate attacks registered on the whole planet in 2004 and 445 attacks a year before. Experts explained the decline of cases with activation of patrolling of Malaysia and Indonesia coasts.
Strait of Malacca between Indonesia and Malaysia is a long, narrow and very busy passage. It accounts for more than a quarter of the whole world's volume of cargo transportation and a quarter of all pirate attacks. |

| Smoke Alarms in Boats - Fire Safety |
Smoke alarm technology has developed significantly during the past several years with more features being available, such as optical sensors, long life batteries and the facility to ‘hush’ the alarm when, for example, cooking food.
It's strongly recommended that boats with overnight accommodation are fitted with at least one smoke alarm. Boaters should use smoke alarms as part of their fire action plan to detect and ultimately escape from fire on the boat.
Early detection of a fire while boating can help deal with a small fire before it gets out of control or give everyone aboard the chance to escape without being overcome by smoke or poisonous fumes, especially while sleeping and that's why unaware of the fire danger.

| Boating Fire Safety |
Fire safety while boating is essential both when boat is moored and in open waters. Boat fires are less common than fires on land. But when they do occur, they can have destroying consequences. Boats are often far away from the land, so boat fire may result in frighting consecuences. Since it takes longer for fire-fighters to arrive at an incident, a fire can totally destroy a boat and everything on it for that time.
Boat that is well maintained to minimum fire safety standards has higher degree of boating fire safety and fire is unlikely on it. But it is a great concern to boaters who can be caught unawares or in a situation where escape is difficult. |

| Galaxy Megayacht |
Galaxy megayacht is the fruit of formed alliance between Azimut/Benetti group and Fincantieri Yachting and the first project, realized on a new shipyard in Livorno. It began to drew attention long before completion. A notable producer chosen so unusual ultra-modern materials for this yacht and so cardinally changed the design, that many began to talk about new direction in a yachtbuilding.
Marine architects of the Benetti were devising the 56-meter yacht together with a customer, calmly and resolutely going away from established traditions. A future owner, young energetic Australian, described his understanding of comfort and designers "inserted" this dream within the hard bounds of Lloyd and MCA classification. But how they did this! |
