SELLER DESCRIPTION
2006 Hunter 27X, 27' The Hunter 27X is setting the pace in the Santa Monica Bay PHRF fleet. Arriving at H&S Yacht Sales in October 2006 the boat went out on the race course in the California Yacht Club Harris Series for its first try in local competition. By the end of the weekend series a 1,1,1,2,1 score gave "Salsa" a first place in class C and looking at the corrected times would have corrected out in the top two places overall in the two races that the fleet sailed the same course. Boat really goes upwind and down in the light medium airs. This series qualified "Salsa" for the Association of Santa Monica Bay Yacht Clubs Championship Regatta. Racing against the top placing boats throughout the year in PHRF the Hunter 27X proved itself again. As the breeze built to 8kts + "Salsa" kicked into high gear and went on to win PHRF D and the Lighthouse Trophy with a total of 6 points over second place with 8 points. The Hunter really flies off the wind with the masthead Aysmetrical Spin tacked to the bowsprit spin pole. 7 kts of boat speed were the norm in 10 kts of wind. Upwind the boat likes to sail in the 5.25-.50 kts of boat speed in 10kts of windspeed. Really handles the waves in a breeze well with a smooth motion through the chop. Local racers were impressed with the standing headroom and aft stateroom with enclosed head. Comments were a "A good looking family cruiser that can be raced competively with modern racing rig" "Is Hunter getting into the racing market??" Looking forward to more fun on this fast Racer / Cruiser.
